My Story
Qualifications
Louise is a qualified Art Psychotherapist and, Systemic and Family Psychotherapist.
Training
Louise has completed training in the Maudsley Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FT-AN) and Multi-Family Therapy Training for Anorexia Nervosa (MFT). Louise is a certified NVR practitioner to advanced level and NVR clinical supervisor. Louise has completed various therapeutic training including Advance Integrative Therapy (AIT), Child Accelerated Trauma Treatment (CATT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mentalization Based Therapy (MBT). Louise is also a qualified Yoga teacher.
Skills and Experience
During the past 14 years Louise has centred her clinical experience in working with children, young people, carers, families and teams. Louise currently works in an inpatient adolescent CAMHS unit and works privately. Louise’s career experience highlights her passion in supporting all kinds of families and young people to develop and update their existing toolbox of skills and resources. Empowering those she works with to create the lasting change that they want to see in their lives and relationships.
Louise often brings creative approaches into sessions as it can offer a different way to makes sense of complex feelings and situations. She has witnessed families creating art together which has opened powerful moments of healing and offered difference that language might not have provided. Alongside this Louise has seen how NVR can offer tools to repair ruptures in family relationships and help to form stronger connections.
Louise believes it is a unique privilege to support people through some of their most difficult times. It is therefore important to create a safe and empowering space to begin to make sense of experiences and goals. Those that have worked with Louise express appreciating her genuineness, warmth and supportive yet challenging approach. Louise works alongside young people and families from a non-judgmental and collaborative place to support meaningful change. Louise sees her position as a guide in supporting young people and families in their journey towards better understanding of the patterns in how they relate to themselves and others. She believes that despite our vast differences that a key thing that we all share is in our need to be heard and understood by the people that we love.
